A different perspective on John McCain and Al Qaeda in Iraq

Although John McCain doesn’t believe that Al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) is an “obscure sect” of Shiites (he meant to say Sunnis), the numbers beg to differ. Experts estimate that AQI is comprised of approximately 1,000 people, which is approximately 1% of the insurgency. Assuming a population of 29,000,000 with 40% Sunni Moslems, AQI also represents .0086% of Iraqi Sunnis and .0034% of Iraqis.

By means of comparison, there are approximately 39,000 gang members in Los Angeles County. Assuming a population of 10,000,000 people, that means that gang members represent .39% of the population.

Assuming that Eliot Spitzer’s superdelegate vote came with the office and will be forfeited when he resigns, one would have to believe that his replacement, Lieutenant Governor David Paterson (who happens to be an African-American from Harlem) will be getting a lot of attention from the Clinton and Obama campaigns.

The lesson learned from Eliot Spitzer

If you’re an elected official in need of the services of a prostitute, rather than hiring a classy online call girl whose fee requires complex financial maneuvering to pay, it’s better to choose a cheap crack whore who has no cell phone and probably won’t remember you the next day.

Yet another double standard

If Hillary Clinton were leading in the popular vote, the pledged delegate count, and/or the overall delegate count, there would be zero talk of re-enfranchising the Michigan and Florida results.
